Play: Gun Doubles- PA Slot Post

Setup

1. Cancel the play action/ block your halfback
2. Send your tight end on a drag route
3. Motion your right outside wide receiver left and snap when he starts moving

Reads

1.The right outside receiver’s route is now unbumpable, and he darts past his defender. Lead pass up to him. If you opponent is nanoing with bump and run coverage, this play usually results in a touchdown.
2. Your second read is your tight end on the drag route, but you really won’t need him most of the time.

Play Singleback Bunch- Pa Draw Pass

Setup

1. Cancel Play Action
2. Motion your outside bunch receiver out towards the sideline

Reads

There seem to be plenty of new plays this year, which i am sure made a lot of madden gamers happy, however the lack of new formations really jumps out.  Their are very few new formations this year, but because of the  big addition of the wildcat and pistol formation, you wont see many gamers complaining.

The big dissappointment with offensive playbooks was the pistol formation.  The pistol only has 1 formation (Pistol Twin Te)  with a mere 9 plays in the entire game and is only found in 1 playbook.  The wildcat seems to be living up to everyones expectations so far in the released demos and now the new playbooks.  The wildcat, in some way, shape or form, is in 9 different team’s playbook.  It appears that they put a little too much wildcat in the game and not enough pistol.

The defensive playbooks this year made no apparent improvements and are generally the same as they have been for the past 4 years.  Defensive coordinators are constantly tweaking and changing schemes to keep up with the talent level in the nfl but the madden series takes no note of it.  The developers need to tweak the defensive playbooks at least a little every year.  Defense is half the game, and they have paid no attention to it, instead adding in creative new offensive plays every year and never once changing a blitz angle of a single defender.

This madden game looks to be the most realistic one in a long time, and many gamers who have boycotted madden for a long time have pledged to buy this year’s madden.
